The kids can mark off each chapter as they read, helping encourage them along as they make their way through their assigned reading.
There is a space at the top of each bookmark where you can punch a hole and tie some ribbon or twine. If you prefer not to do this, simply cut off the excess white space at the top of the bookmarks.
